On July 9, the IAAF updated the qualifying competitors for the 2022 IAAF World Athletics Championships, and 1,972 athletes from 192 countries and regions signed up for the competition. From July 16 to 25 this year, the IAAF World Athletics Championships which were postponed for one year will be held in Eugene, OR, USA.

There are 53 athletes qualifying from the Chinese track and field team, including 23 men and 30 women according to the final shortlist announced by the IAAF official website.

All four main athletes from the Chinese relay men's team from the Tokyo Olympics, Su Bingtian, Tang Xingqiang, Wu Zhiqiang and Xie Zhenye, qualified for the competition. The other two young members are Chen Guanfeng and Deng Zhijian.
