A brand-new torch-like water tower was revealed to the public on May.17 in Zhongshan Experimental Middle School as the month-long face-lift work came to a conclusion. The tower was designed as a torch covered with red and white lucky clouds graphic to represent that the flame of illumination will be carried forward from one generation to another.

Zhongshan Experimental Middle School grew out of Zhongshan Normal School that was established in 1913. The tower was constructed in 1991 and since it is located in the Memorial Park of Zhongshan Normal School, an important cultural attraction on the campus, it is usually called the Normal School Water Tower. The tower was set idle in 2009 and early this year, a face-lift work was launched to renovate it.
