In recent years, Zhongshan has made solid efforts in developing renewable energy and promoting the construction of distributed photovoltaic power generation projects. According to the Zhongshan Development and Reform Bureau, a total of 2,912 projects were put into operation in by the end of 2020, with a generating capacity of 93.22 million kWh. In the first half of 2021, some 226 home-based photovoltaic power generation devices were installed, with an installed capacity of 23,400 kWh and a generating capacity of 8.48 million kWh.
