Some 64,521 new market entities were registered in Zhongshan in the first half of 2023, up 4.53% year on year, with more than 10,000 added per month.

So far, there have been more than 610,000 market entities in Zhongshan, up 12.01% year on year. Among them, 233,187 are private enterprises, up 9.76% year on year, 6,094 are foreign-funded enterprises, up 7.59% year on year, and 36,014 are individual businesses, up 12.68% year on year.

Hong Kong has always been a main source of foreign capital for Zhongshan. In recent years, Zhongshan has been constantly deepening economic and trade exchanges with Hong Kong. In particular in the context of the Great Bay Area's integrated development, investment from Hong Kong is growing steadily in Zhongshan. In the first five months of 2023, Zhongshan absorbed a total investment of 1.109 billion yuan from Hong Kong, up 41.66% year on year. 

There are currently more than 4,500 enterprises in Zhongshan with a total foreign direct investment of 26.5 billion US dollars, of which more than 3,200 are Hong Kong and Macao-funded enterprises (including over 2,300 Hong Kong-funded enterprises).
