More than 200 million yuan has been injected into comprehensive treatment on the Qijiang River, in view of improving flood control, drainage, water quality, riverside landscape, river navigation, and technical reform of the water gates between the eastern and western section of Qijiang River.
Qijiang Riversides
Zhongshan Municipal People’s Government has invested 160 million yuan to build the Zhongshan Shipyard Park (Qijiang Park), a theme park combining modern ideas and historical architecture, on the original site of the state-owned Guangdong Shipyard. The Park was awarded the Design Honor Award 2002 by American Society of Landscape Architects and the Gold Medal of Environmental Art Category in the Tenth National Exhibition of Fine Arts.

Old town redevelopment is carried out on a large scale while preserving historical culture and injecting modern city elements so as to breed new prosperity.
