The Ministry of Ecology and the Environment recently reported on the national surface water and ambient air quality for March and for the January-to-March period.

In March, among the 168 major cities nationwide, the air quality in Shijiazhuang, Tangshan and Taiyuan cities was relatively poor, while the air quality in Haikou, Lhasa and Huangshan cities was good. Zhongshan city ranked 9th among 168 key cities in terms of air quality, which was the same ranking as in February.

From January to March, the ambient air quality in Zhongshan ranked 14th across the country.

In 2021, Zhongshan will focus on peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality control in order to further promote the construction of a low-carbon city.
