The Realm and Image - Global Touring Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition by Xiao Siwu (Zhongshan) opened at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Library on August 26 and will last until August 31.
Xiao Siwu, originally from Nanyang City, Henan Province, is a distinguished artist of the Painting and Calligraphy Institute of the CPPCC Zhongshan Municipal Committee. Since 2017, he has held solo and joint exhibitions in Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Mongolia, and etc. His works that combine exceptional Chinese traditional culture and art making express a young Chinese painter'sdream to "let the world understand China with Chinese ink."
With nearly 100 painting and calligraphy works by Xiao Siwu on display, the exhibition also serves as a seminar for renowned calligraphers, painters and scholars in Zhongshan to better carry out art making.
During the opening ceremony, Xiao Siwu donated two of his elaborate paintings to the Painting and Calligraphy Institute of the CPPCC Zhongshan Municipal Committee and Sun Bisheng, a relative of Dr Sun Yat-sen, respectively.
