Guzhen Liufang Dragon Dance: A New Member of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage from Zhongshan

The dragon is as long as 53 meters and it takes about a hundred people to lift it.
It is recently reported that Liufang Dragon Dance of Guzhen Town has been listed in the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage. It became the 6th member of national intangible cultural heritage from Zhongshan together with Zhongshan Xianshui Songs, Xiaolan Chrysanthemum Show, Drunk Dragon Dance, Yakou Piaose and Shaxi Herbal Tea.
Liufang Dragon Dance which is a traditional folk dance with a history of more than 300 years is very popular in Liufang Village, Guzhen Town. Every year when there is Dragon Dance, local people will light the branch of mulberry tree and beat drums to welcome the dragon.
