Preparing dragon boat for the Dragon Boat Festival

Dragon boat has a history of over 200 years in Huangpu Town. It has become popular during the reign of Emperor Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty. Dragon boat race is held every Dragon Boat Festival. “Wanglong” is the exercise before dragon boat race. The ritual of “Wanglong” was held yesterday at Aoshan Village, Huangpu Town to pray for safety and smoothness. Two brand-new dragon boats were launched for the coming dragon boat race.
