Zhongshan set up 462 new foreign-direct investment enterprises from January to October 2022, up 6.45% year on year. These enterprises are mainly Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan-funded enterprises.
In addition to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, investors were also mainly from Malaysia, South Korea, the US, the UK, Canada and Pakistan. The invested industries include wholesale & retail, scientific research and technical services, leasing and business services, manufacturing, and others.
Baowei Technology, which produces medical devices and has an investment of 24 million US dollars from Hong Kong, and Yilang Warehousing, which is engaged in warehousing services and has an investment of 18 million US dollars, are major foreign-funded enterprises.
According to the Zhongshan Bureau of Commerce, the amount of foreign capital in actual use stood at 3.572 billion yuan from January to October 2022, up 5.7% year on year.
