??The exposure draft of The Notice on Ship Emission Control of Zhongshan City has been released and publicized by Zhongshan Transportation Bureau since May 2.
??Reportedly, Zhongshan proposes to build ship emission control zones for regulation of air polluting emission. According to the exposure draft, ship emission control zones include all navigable waters within the administrative region of Zhongshan city. Except military ships, sports boats and fishery vessels, all other ships which voyage, berth and operate in the control zones are required to adhere strictly to the marine air pollution emission requirements formulated by transportation authorities.
??After implementation, since January 1, 2019 on, any ship entering any of the control zones is required to utilize fuel oil with not more than 0.5% sulphur content in the waste gas.
