The Zhongshan section of the Zhongshan-Kaiping Expressway, serving as a major connection line with the ShenZhong Link on the west side of the Pearl River Estuary, opened to traffic on June 30.
The total length of the Zhongshan-Kaiping Expressway is approximately 129.7km. The Zhongshan section spans 44.1km, starting from Ma'an Island in Cuiheng New District and connecting with the ShenZhong Link and Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway through interchanges. It crosses the West Hengmen Waterway, passes through Nanlang, Torch Development Zone, East District, Shaxi and Henglan, and finally enters Jiangmen City after crossing the Modaomen Waterway.
The Zhongshan section has 8 interchanges, 1 service area and 4 tollgates. It has 6 lanes (8 lanes in some parts) in 2 directions, with a speed limit of 100km/h.
