This year's Guangdong provincial "Village BA" basketball tournament commenced in Longrui Village in Zhongshan's Shaxi Town on the evening of June 24.

In the coming five days, eight teams will stage 16 thrilling matches across Shaxi and Dachong towns. The top two teams will advance to the southeast division representing Guangdong.

The eight participating teams include last year's provincial top four finishers, Zhongshan Shaxi, Zhongshan Guzhen, Dongguan Zhongtang and Dongguan Dalang, alongside four county-level teams, Foshan Nanhai, Qingyuan Qingxin, Yunfu Yunan and Maoming Dianbai.

Last year, Zhongshan Shaxi and Guzhen secured the provincial championship and runner-up positions respectively, with Shaxi successfully defending their national "Village BA" title through an undefeated campaign.
