The Science Park of Zhongshan Institute, UESTC was recently identified as a provincial university science park. This is the first provincial university science park in Zhongshan and the first among similar universities in Guangdong Province.

At present, the 15,427.75-square meter, off-campus Zhixian park area has been completed and is located on floor 2 to 7 of the Xian Building in the Science and Technology Innovation Valley in Zhongshan's Shiqi Distrcit. Meanwhile, the planned Xiangshan park area, located at the southeast part of the campus, will cover a total area of 33,767.6 square meters. The planning, design and application of construction have been completed.

Presently, the Zhongshan Institute science park has produced more than 20 provincial and municipal innovation platforms, including the Guangdong Intelligent Detection and Robotics Intelligent Control Engineering Technology Research. It has served more than 300 enterprises in the Greater Bay Area, including such leading local companies as Mingyang Smart Energy, Broad-Ocean Motor and Union Optech. It has undertaken nearly 500 industry-university-research cooperative projects, which have driven enterprise output value to increase by over 2 billion yuan. A total of more than 290 enterprises have been incubated, which create more than 2,000 jobs.
